Americans may as well begin wrapping their minds around this reality: the Affordable Care Act––which has been defined by the Chief Supreme Court Justice John Roberts as a "tax"... and a/k/a Obamacare––is here to stay!!
Although many voters are angry at the recent Court ruling, and are revved up and vowing to show their discontent with this law via the voting booth this Fall. The general mood in breadbasket America which is motivating Independents, Tea Party members and thousands in the Republican party by the droves is:
If Obama wins a second term, ObamaCare will go into effect, and it will be nearly impossible to reverse it in 2016 or later. Ed Morrissey, HotAir.com July 2
Indeed, presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney has vowed to repeal it on day one of his administration. Speaking on the day of the historic ruling, Romney made it clear:
"What the Court did not do on its last day in session, I will do on my first day if elected President of the United States." Presidential nominee Mitt RomneyBut, as reality sets in... the fact is that repealing Obamacare at this juncture looks slim-to-none .
According to U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, "the odds are against repealing the health care law that was championed by President Barack Obama". Read: http://www.whas11.com/news/local/McConnell-says-he-will-work-to-repeal-Obamacare-161089795.html
Let's face it... as various popular parts of Obamacare is implemented, i.e. folks with pre-existing conditions could qualify for catastrophic health insurance coverage; parents being able to carry adult children on their insurance through age 26... will make for a tough fight to repeal or reverse it.
Not holding my breath on this one. Nope. I think Obamacare or some form of 'Romneycare', (as both these healthcare laws are kissing cousins) is the new normal in America. And the sooner we get use to it... the better!
As I have stated many times....I don't care if the teapublicans don't like the Obama healthcare....what I do care about is they have YET to provide a better alternative plan! All this time to work with the President on providing a more affordable healthcare and yet all we hear is empty rhetoric by assholes who don't have to EVER worry about this issue.
ReplyDeleteI can't get used to it....sorry. The 21 taxes incl abortion tax. No way this can withstand an added 30 mill ppl
ReplyDeleteI will not comply.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one more disturbed over the Governments new found super taxing power?
ReplyDeleteAnd does anyone really think that Romney will bring any better change than President Obama? Two slightly different peas in the same pod! We don't have anyone (save perhaps the Libertarian candidate) who would attempt to reign in the federal governments ever growing, ever reaching power and intrusions into our lives. This too, I'd say, is here to stay in one form or another. That pendulum never swings back home.
